ERIN IJESHA WATERFALLS, OSUN STATE
Erin Ijesha waterfall, also known as Olumirin waterfalls, is located in Osun State, south-west Nigeria, and it is arguably the most popular waterfall in the country. This waterfall Cascades over rugged rocks at a height of over 20 metres, and it provides a beautiful scenery for impressively taken pictures and selfies granted that you wouldn’t mind getting splashed. GURARA WATERFALLS, NIGER STATE
Gurara Waterfalls is another popular waterfall in Nigeria. It is a top tourist destination in the country that is located in Niger State and it is also close to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. OWU WATERFALLS, KWARA STATE
Owu Waterfalls is yet another famous waterfall in Nigeria that is situated at Owa Kajola, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. This particular waterfall is the highest waterfall in the whole of West Africa measuring a height of 120 metres above the water level and cascades 330 feet down an escarpment, with rocky out crops to a pool of ice-cold water below.
MATSIRGA WATERFALLS, KADUNA STATE
Matsirga Waterfalls is located in Kaduna State. The people who reside close the the waterfall and its environs, love to frequent this waterfall for the fun purpose of interacting with nature at its finest. The Matsirga waterfall takes its source from springs on the Kagoro Hills cascading from four different natural funnels off the sheer rock cliff from about 25 metres to form a large pool at the bottom. It is precisely located in Madakiya close to Kafanchan, about 227 kilometers south of Kaduna. Water cascades at the Matsirga Waterfalls 30 metres downwards into a gorge is supported by beautiful rocks. This place is a tourist’s dream.
KWA WATERFALL, CALABAR
The Kwa Waterfalls is a wonderful natural Fall that is located in Anegeje village, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State. This waterfall is an extension of the Great Kwa River. The waters of the Kwa Falls cascade down basement rocks located at the Oban side of the Cross River National Park, descending through a wide vertical gash on a cliff cutting-across the Great Kwa River channel which flows gracefully through Cross River State, draining the east side of the beautiful city of Calabar. The Kwa Falls is an amazing tourist destination that draws visitors to its beautiful scenery all year round.
ARINTA WATERFALLS, EKITI STATE
Arinta Waterfalls is a beautiful waterfall located in Ekiti State; and situated very close to the famed Ikogosi Warm Spring. its features include; natural forest vegetation, and an uninterrupted flow of water from the hills as well as an aerial view of Ipole-Iloro. It is a great place for relaxation, picnic and swimming.
AWHUM WATERFALL, ENUGU STATE
The Awhum Waterfall is a popular tourist destination in Nigeria that is located at Amaugwe Village, Awhum Town, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu State The Waterfall is formed out of a massive outcrop of granite rock with water flow at the top forming a stream. Some part of the waterfall is usually warm through the seasons. The Awhum waterfall is 30 metres high and is located around the Awhum Monastery.
AGBOKIM WATERFALL, CROSS RIVER STATE
Agbokim Waterfalls is located in Etung Local Government Area of Cross River State. It is made up of seven streams which display a wondrous cascade of fresh water plunging down the high cliff into the beautiful tropical rainforest. This waterfall is surrounded by steep hills, valleys, and luxuriant vegetation, and it has for years, been one of the best tourist attraction sites in Cross River State.
FARIN RUWA WATERFALLS, NASARAWA STATE
The Farin Ruwa Waterfall originates from an amazing height of over 150 metres with a water volume of about 50 cubic metres. It is a beautiful tourist destination located in Nasarawa State. Farin Ruwa waterfall is one of the highest falls in Nigeria and also one of the most significant waterfalls on the African Continent.
ASSOP WATERFALL, PLATEAU STATE
The Assop Waterfall is located about 65 kilometres from the City of Jos, the Plateau State Capital. It is a very nice relaxation spot popular for picnicking and other fun activities. This waterfall is indeed one of nature’s masterpieces and you should do well to check it out when next you’re in Jos.
